About the product

An SAE blind flange is used to close off an unused SAE flange port or a flanged line end under pressure. It is bolted to the port with four bolts; sealing is provided by the O-ring between the port and the blind flange. It is manufactured in separate sizes for Code 61 and Code 62 ports.

It is used to close spare ports on pump and valve blocks, to isolate equipment from the circuit during maintenance, and to blank off lines undergoing pressure testing on hydraulic test benches, in marine, shipyard, rolling mill and offshore power units.

The code and size of the blind flange must exactly match the port to be closed.
A threaded measurement port can be requested in the blind flange for a gauge connection or draining; this must be specified in the order.
The O-ring material must be selected according to the fluid and working temperature.

Installation note: Before removing a blind flange, make sure the pressure in the line has been fully relieved. Tighten the bolts in a cross pattern.
