Description
The SAE Code 61 split flange clamp consists of two symmetrical halves and is used to clamp a flanged-head hose fitting or tube end against an SAE flange port. The halves are placed behind the head from both sides and bolted to the port with four bolts. Sealing is provided by the O-ring on the face of the head; the clamp carries only the clamping force.
Its main advantage over a one-piece flange is that it can be fitted and removed without dismantling the hose or tube line. That is why it is widely used in tight spaces around pump and valve blocks, on ship deck machinery, in rolling mill and press power units, on offshore cranes and in the main hydraulic lines of board machines.
Installation note: The halves must seat evenly on the head, and the bolts must be tightened in a cross pattern and in stages. Tightening from one side only causes the head to seat at an angle and leads to O-ring leakage.
We send this product's size options, thread standards and technical drawing on request. If the size you need is non-standard, we can manufacture it from a sample.

Ask on WhatsAppNo. For the same nominal size, Code 61 (ISO 6162-1) and Code 62 (ISO 6162-2) parts differ in flange thickness, head dimensions and bolt spacing. In catalog classification, Code 61 is referred to as the 3000 PSI class and Code 62 as the 6000 PSI class, but the permissible pressure varies with size. Verify the port size and code class before ordering.
A split flange has the advantage in tight, hard-to-reach locations where the connection must be opened without dismantling the hose or tube line. A one-piece flange centers the head more easily during installation and reduces the number of parts. The choice depends on installation access and maintenance frequency.
