Description
The male stud connector (listed as a male stud coupling in UK catalogs) is the most common hydraulic connection for joining tube to an equipment port. One end has a 24° cone, ferrule and nut; the other has a parallel BSPP male thread to ISO 228-1. With a parallel thread, sealing does not take place on the thread itself but at the port face, by an elastomeric seal, a bonded seal or a cutting edge.
It is the starting point of the tube run at pump outlets, valve blocks, cylinder ports and manifolds. It is used constantly in the hydraulic power units of ship steering systems, on deck cranes, in press and mill roll hydraulics, and in hydraulic control panels.
Installation note: The port face must be clean and free of scratches. First tighten the body into the port, then connect the tube with the nut and ferrule; a suitable assembly lubricant on stainless steel threads reduces the risk of galling.
We send this product's size options, thread standards and technical drawing on request. If the size you need is non-standard, we can manufacture it from a sample.

If your question isn't answered here, message us on WhatsApp with a message pre-filled with the product details.
Ask on WhatsAppBSPP (ISO 228-1) is a parallel thread; sealing is achieved at the port face by a seal, bonded seal or cutting edge. BSPT (ISO 7-1) is a 1:16 tapered thread; sealing is achieved by thread engagement together with a suitable thread sealant. Both have a 55° thread form and, for the same size, the same pitch, so they are often confused in the field. Do not place an order until the port type has been verified.
Measure the pitch with a thread pitch gauge and the major diameter with a caliper, then check whether the thread is parallel or tapered. If you are unsure, send us the sample part or a clear photo together with its dimensions; we will carry out fitting identification and recommend the right fitting.
