BSP Female Swivel 90° Hose Fitting

The BSP female swivel 90° hose fitting (often simply called a "hose end" in the field) is crimped onto the end of a hydraulic hose and connected to the mating part with a female BSPP (parallel) swivel nut. Sealing is achieved by the fitting's 60° cone nose seating in the 60° cone seat of the male mating part. The 90° bent body allows the hose to change direction in front of the port without a sharp kink.

It is used in ship steering systems, deck cranes, hatch and ramp cylinders, the moving assemblies of rolling mill and board machines, fire pump sets and the transfer lines of chemical plants. A stainless steel hose end eliminates the corrosion problems seen with plated steel ends in saltwater and washdown environments.

• The fitting must be selected to suit the hose type (1SN, 2SN, 4SH, etc.) and inside diameter, and matched with the hose ferrule.
• The swivel nut allows orientation during installation without twisting the hose; once the connection is tightened, the hose must not be forced into twisting as it moves.
• Short-drop (compact) and long-drop types are selected according to the installation space in front of the port.

Installation note: Crimping must be carried out to the crimp dimensions specified for the hose and fitting; the completed hose assembly must be checked for leaks under pressure before commissioning.
