24° Weld Nipple with O-Ring

The 24° weld nipple with O-ring is a fitting component that is butt-welded to the tube end and seats in a 24° cone. An O-ring on its outer surface provides sealing in the cone, and the weld nipple is locked in place when the nut is tightened. On reducing versions, the weld side and the cone side have different diameters, so a larger tube can transition to a smaller connection or vice versa. 90° versions allow a welded line to change direction and be connected in tight spaces.

It is used in heavy-wall and high-pressure tube lines, in ship and shipyard hydraulic piping, in rolling mill and heavy press hydraulics, and anywhere a welded connection is preferred over bite-type ferrule fittings.

• The weld bevel must suit the tube wall thickness, and the alignment of tube and weld nipple should be checked before welding.
• The O-ring must not be fitted during welding.
• For reducing versions, both diameters must be specified separately.

Installation note: After welding, remove oxide and inspect the inner surface; clean the O-ring groove, then lightly lubricate and fit the O-ring.
